Principal’s Welcome Letter
As principal of Joseph A. Taub School (JATS), it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025-2026 SY. We hope you had a restful and relaxing summer filled with wonderful memories with family and friends. The wellness of our school begins with each of us taking time to rejuvenate.
As we prepare for this school year, the maintenance, custodial, and support staff worked hard to get the school ready. JATS “Ram Pride” permeates the halls and classrooms. While much work has occurred, schedules are still being finalized to ensure each of our students receives quality instruction from a certificated teacher. Supply orders were placed, and deliveries continue to arrive. Student welcome letters were mailed to ensure all are aware of JATS expectations. We are thrilled to share a tool to help with student self-data management.
This year proves to be an exciting time as we embarked on AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). This is a college and career strategy designed to help students, particularly those in middle school and high school, succeed in rigorous coursework and prepare for college. It provides academic and social-emotional support, focusing on developing skills like note-taking, time management, and critical thinking. AVID aims to close the opportunity gap by equipping students with the tools they need to thrive in challenging academic settings. The Annual School Plan (ASP) will coordinate with the AVID strategies to assist with meeting school-wide benchmarks and goals. The ASP will be further discussed and reviewed throughout the school year.
The 25-26 SY officially begins with professional development on Monday, September 2nd-3rd. There is much information to share during this time. A continental breakfast will be served on the first day only. Staff are welcome to enter the building on August 27-28. You must exit the building by 2:30 PM.
Please come to school with an open mind, kind spirit, and brave heart, ready to make this the best year ever. Remember, we are a TEAM, and you are a valuable asset. You matter! Your contributions and ideas make the team stronger! We are eager to see all the amazing things you and your peers will accomplish this year! Let’s make this year the best, filled with working smarter, a more positive school climate & culture, and school pride. We are thrilled to be on this journey with you.
With excitement,
Dr. Jorge Ventura
