Ongoing Security Checks and Screenings
Please be advised that we will be conducting daily security checks and screenings at the Joseph A. Taub School. These security checks began last year, and are now going to be a daily practice moving forward. The checks will utilize scanning technology. Backpack and locker searches will be conducted only if an event occurs that prompts such a search. We are currently using wands, and possibly asking students to open their backpacks.
This protocol began, as a result of an increase in prohibited items being brought into the school by students. Parents please continue to have open lines of communication with your child about what is acceptable to bring into school.
We want to be as proactive as humanly possible to maintain a safe and orderly environment for our students and staff here at JATS.
Security Checks and Screenings
Dear Parents,
Please be advised that we will be conducting random security checks and screenings at the Joseph A. Taub School. As we did last year, it is now going to be a daily practice moving forward. As a result of the recent increase in violent activity around the city, we want to be as cautious as humanly possible to protect our students and staff here at JATS. The checks will utilize scanning technology and possibly backpack, and locker searches as well. I want to be clear that we have not had escalated incidents at the school, and this is merely in reaction to what is happening in the city.
Sincerely,
Mr. Amod Field, Principal of Operations
District Wide Hispanic Heritage Art Contest Winner
JATS’ very own Allyson Jimenez, in the 7th Grade, has won the GRAND PRIZE for the Paterson district wide Hispanic Heritage Month art contest. She was awarded a $1000 gift card to Michaels/Staples. Allyson is a very talented artist, as you can see, and has made us all very proud. This is a big win for our talented students and school! Hispanic Art Posters
The students in Mrs. Selino's Computer Classes researched and created posters of famous Hispanics for their Hispanic Heritage Projects. On some of the posters is a QR Code, that if scanned, will bring you to a website where more information on the person can be found. Some of the posters are posted below. We hope that you enjoy these outstanding posters created by our students. The students at JATS continue to do GREAT things.
